Houston Radar BuildingHouston Radar LLC, the world’s leading manufacturer of low-power traffic detection and monitoring radar technology, is pleased to announce several new milestones that have been achieved recently.

Houston Radar has completed its move into a brand new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sugar Land, TX, just outside of Houston. The new facility allows for a much-needed increase in both production capacity and R&D workspace. Styled after those of corporate campus trendsetters in Silicon Valley, Houston Radar’s new HQ building blends function, aesthetics, and room for inevitable expansion.

Houston Radar’s new production facility paved the way for streamlining manufacturing operations and achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification. The ISO 9001:2015 standard specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization:

  • needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
  • aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Houston Radar’s advances in facilities and QMS operations are largely built upon their continued dominance in the traffic calming market, with the DR600 K-Band Doppler radar and SS400 Doppler sign activation/speed sensor, and increasingly rapid growth of market share in the nonintrusive detection industry with their SpeedLane Pro true-dual beam side-fire radar and Armadillo Tracker Traffic Collector. Only released in mid-2017, the SpeedLane Pro has recently been awarded multi-year contracts by Oklahoma Department of TransportationIowa Department of Transportation, and the Central Florida Expressway Authority.

Houston Radar was started by Vipin Malik and Sergei Sharonov in 2004 in Houston, Texas, USA. Houston Radar supplies to 6 out of the top 8 North American independent traffic calming sign manufacturers, and is rapidly expanding all over the world with customers in more than 60 countries.
